Agreed on 7. There are lots of bits that remain: The green on 9 used to be the business end of a long par-3, now a dogleg right par 4. But I'm honestly not sure about today's 10. I rememeber negotiating the tree, but I have played the course a couple times since 1984. My question: how did it link back up to the rest of the routing? That stumps me, cuz the closest hole to 10 green would have been 18, the par-3 finisher. And 11-15 are all NEW holes... Check out this 1934 aerial of Cromwell. Course is located at 2-3 o'clock. The no. 10 we remember is not there but the course shurely changed over time. https://cdm15019.contentdm.oclc.org/customizations/collection/p4005coll10/pages/maps/maps_1934_cromwell.html

Pretty sure 7 and 10 are also very similar to what they used to be. I remember trying to carve a 1 iron by that tree in the middle of the fairway on 10 in the Connecticut Medal Play amateur back in the late 70s early 80s

Tommy: I wish I had a layout of Powderhorn. I can remember a lot of hole, and how SOME fit together, but what we need is an aerial of the place from the 1970s. Keep us posted in your quest... h

Thanks Hal. I am confirming that I read this with a blended mix of amusement (tequila was my scary drug at BC), and practical as an Autism and Military Father.

Genuine appreciation.

I am also a leading-edge GenX, and fondly remember watching Sesame Street in my Kindergarten class.
Dan: To answer your question, "CK would have to pitch a LOT more good games to change my view of his postseason record." He had a great 2020. Bravo — and not a young man in 2020. But the numbers speak for themselves: https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/k/kershcl01.shtml ... I honestly don't sit around waiting for the guy to screw up. But his terrible outing last week vs. AZ prompted me to reread this essay, and your comment. However, there exists a simple, persistent disconnect between what Dodger fans, and frankly Dodger managers expect from Kershaw in the playoffs and what he delivers — over the course of 15 years and 22 series games. The opener against the D-backs (a team he has utterly dominated in the regular season) is just the latest example.
