Over the many years I’ve certainly ranged the gambit of burger indulgence. But, as I age (and gain wisdom ?), the burger is slipping rapidly from my menu. In a word…too much. I do like the Nosh burgers in Portland…but again, too much. I’ve now begun secretly (until this post) just grabbing one of those “nasty good” pre-cooked/wrapped/heat-lamp units sitting in the box at the corner station. It’s sad…and very wrong. But like you, I cannot resist the pull. I simply eat the damn soggy thing as it is…with cheese running down the side (and maybe a limp piece of bacon), and it brings me some kind of remembered comfort. I know…sounds nasty. And it is. But somehow, it just hits that spot for me, at least until I begin having to digest the damn thing. This is our legacy, sadly. Thanks for sharing your personal burger experience. You messy man.
