In reply to Jeff. Cheers, Jeff. This story, as much as any other posted here, continues to find traction with folks. When you say you visited the site, do you mean you took a boat to Curtis Island, the former Curtis Hill? I think the Metropolitan District Commission is still responsible for the Quabbin's administration and operation. That's a place to start. Another would be the Swift River Historical Society, which conducts tours of the otherwise off-limits Prescott Peninsula. I bet those folks would know who would have to okay cleanup crews... h

I just visited this site again after 40 years (oct. 2021) It is a shame that is being left to rot away. It is emotional to stand there and feel the history and see the amazing stone structure. I wish I knew who to contact to see about cleaning up all the fallen trees and saving what is left.
